Known around the world as the home of infamous legend Robin Hood, Nottingham will be attending IMEX America in 2013 to encourage event organisers to consider it as a host city for future gatherings of merry men and women.   And, in celebration of Nottinghamshire’s world-famous Bramley cooking apple, which originated in Southwell and the annual Bramley Apple Festival which takes place later in October, the first 100 visitors to meet the Nottingham Event Team representative at the Visit England stand will receive a complimentary apple pie!

Whether hosting an event for 10 or 10,000 delegates, Nottingham has a range of venues to meet the needs of any event, and offers a range of quintessentially English venues for American event organisers – including Nottingham Castle and the former gaol where Robin Hood was held: The Galleries of Justice Museum.

Delegates can also enjoy a range of activities while in Nottingham – from a tour of the city with Robin Hood to white water rafting at the National Water Sports Centre or a tree top adventure in Sherwood Forest.

Centrally located in England, within easy reach of public transport from all major centres and less than two hours by train from London, Nottingham is ideally located for events, conferences and exhibitions.

In addition to its legendary history, Nottingham prides itself on being an event city, and is known as a Green City and Science City.

“From Nottingham BioCity, one of Europe’s largest bioscience incubators, to two of the greenest universities in the UK, we have the right knowledge and know-how to bring specialist events to life,” said David Randall, Director of Conferencing and Events for Nottingham Event Team.

“Nottingham has much to offer as a destination for corporate events and conferences from the US market – high quality venues, a compact city centre, excellent transport links and expertise in a range of sectors including medicine, sciences and pharmaceuticals.”

Nottingham Event Team offers a range of free services for event organisers to make planning an event in the city an easy exercise – from online accommodation booking for delegates and a venue-finding service, to information kits and welcome packs on the city.

Nottingham will be attending IMEX America, 15 – 17 October, as part of the VisitEngland contingent at the event, following on from a successful presence at IMEX in Frankfurt earlier this year.
