Meet in Nottingham brings an estimated £600,000 worth of potential business to Nottingham after attending the Meetings Show

Meet in Nottingham, the official Convention Bureau for Nottingham and Nottinghamshire charged with helping companies and associations to find and book world-class venues in the city, showcased everything the city and county have to offer at the prestigious The Meetings Show in June 2019, resulting in around 80 enquiries regarding major events coming to Nottingham which are set to generate around £600k for the local economy through booking of conference venues, accommodation and leisure/hospitality/retail businesses.

Meet in Nottingham were joined on the exhibition stand by representatives from the NTU Events and Conferencing, De Vere East Midlands Conference Centre, Motorpoint Arena Nottingham and Stage Connections. They were also joined by Robin Hood, who helped to generate interest and curiosity and help to draw in more visitors and hosted buyers. Together, they showcased the city and county to over 5000 industry professionals at the Meetings Show, the UK’s number one visited MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions and Exhibitions) exhibition.

Meet in Nottingham used this invaluable opportunity to showcase its new website, which provides information about the highly varied range of conference venues available in Nottingham (from a 10,000 seat arena to a meeting room in the Grade II listed Nottingham Council House overlooking the biggest pedestrianised city square in the United Kingdom to a unique virtual reality gaming arena), with detailed information about capacity, facilities, and equipment, all with stunning imagery and an improved visitor journey.

Meet in Nottingham are also developing a new set of leisure packages for business visitors, including sporting activities, fine dining and historic tours.

Rachel Stewart, Events Manager at Meet in Nottingham, said:

Robin Hood generated interest and curiosity about our exhibition stand, strengthening our identity and brand and helping to ensure that we were memorable as a destination, while NTU Events and Conferencing, De Vere East Midlands Conference Centre, Motorpoint Arena Nottingham and Stage Connections were invaluable in helping us to showcase Nottingham as a key conference destination to this important global audience.”

Sharon Lourdan, Marketing & Sales Director at National Ice Centre & Motorpoint Arena Nottingham, said:

“We really enjoyed exhibiting at The Meetings Show and partnering with Visit Nottinghamshire and some of the city’s most popular conference and events venues. It gave us the opportunity to introduce the National Ice Centre & Motorpoint Arena Nottingham to a wide range of industry professionals, many of whom now have a much better understanding of what our venue can offer and the benefits of bringing their next event to the city of Nottingham. Our attendance at the event has helped open new doors and we’re confident it will bring new business our way in the not too distant future.”
