New Year, New Start for Gaynor England

Gaynor England, from Lambley, Nottinghamshire is the latest member of staff to join the Nottingham Event Team, the convention bureau of Experience Nottinghamshire, in the new role of Conference Sales Manager, with the aim of helping the organisation to increase business tourism to the area.

Bringing a wealth of sales experience with her to the role, Gaynor joins the team following her previous position as National Agency Sales Manager for Q Hotels.  Prior to this position, Gaynor worked in the same role for The Belfry, Hotel and Golf Resort, West Midlands and before then she was the Sales Manager for The Village Urban Resorts, Nottingham and the Holiday Inn, Nottingham.

The Nottingham Event Team recognises Nottingham’s strengths in delivering major events and offers a raft of services for event organisers and delegates – including a venue finding service, educational trips and site inspections, an online accommodation booking system, after-hours programmes and welcome packs for delegates.

In addition to her vast sales experience, Gaynor has attained a Chartered Institute of Marketing Certificate in Sales and Marketing. On starting her position, she said:

“I am looking forward to joining the Nottingham Event Team at such an exciting time and to promoting Nottingham to the national and international market.

“There is so much happening in the city and Nottingham has much to offer event organisers with its vast variety of venues.  The city is a key player in the major events, conferences and exhibitions market and I am keen to ensure we realise our true potential as an event city.”

David Randall, Director of Conferencing and Events, Experience Nottinghamshire added:

“We are delighted that Gaynor has joined our Nottingham Event Team with her vast wealth of sales manager experience.  We are committed to promoting Nottingham as the perfect choice destination for conferences and events and the creation of this new role will greatly enhance our ability to attract even more business tourism to Nottingham.

“Gaynor makes up a team of six dedicated conference and event members of staff who all work closely with our key venues and suppliers to attract major events to Nottingham.  We offer event organisers a one-stop, stress-free point of contact when planning their events, no matter how large or small.”
