Nottingham Conference Centre welcomes new Commercial Manager

Nottingham Conference Centre welcomes Siobban Brown to the team in the newly created position of Commercial Manager at Nottingham Trent University, Brackenhurst Campus.

This new role has been created to focus on securing conference and event business into the University’s Brackenhurst Campus.  The role will focus on the rural, agricultural and environmental science sectors to stay in line with the Business Development Plan of the School of Animal, Rural and Environmental Sciences and Strategic Plan of the University.

Brackenhurst is a beautiful campus set within 500 acres of Nottinghamshire countryside, near the market town of Southwell. Having a historic Grade II listed Main Hall surrounded by open spaces, as well as purpose-built classrooms and a Veterinary Centre, the campus is a great rural location for commercial events, especially for those clients who want a less corporate environment. The picturesque landscape also lends itself as the perfect backdrop for weddings and community events.

Katie Hernandez, Conference Operations Manager This new role has been a long time coming, and we are delighted to have Siobban on board. The Brackenhurst campus has so much potential and has been admired by the commercial events team at NTU for a long time. We are so pleased to be able to now market this wonderful campus as part of our venue collection. Siobban brings with her a wealth of event management and business development knowledge and has the added bonus of an agency background, so has an in-depth knowledge of what the client wants.

Siobban has worked in various positions, across different sectors in the events industry, over the last 10 years her roles have included Wedding Coordinator, Events Consultant and Account Management. These varying roles have enabled her to develop a methodical and strategic approach to project management which will be essential to this new role.

Siobban commented on her new role I’m really looking forward to getting stuck into the Commercial Manager position and joining the excellent established team here at NCC. I’m passionate about building relationships and collaborating to ensure success and long-term partnerships.  I enjoy seeing a project through from start to finish and I’m excited about the potential for Brackenhurst to grow especially within the rural, agricultural and environmental science sectors where the school already flourishes. My aim is for Brackenhurst is be a go-to for conferencing and events and to build on the excellent reputation that NCC already has.
