Shortlist announced for Nottinghamshire Hospitality STARS Awards 2019

Following a flood of extremely high-quality nominations from across Nottinghamshire’s finest tourism and hospitality establishments and a rigorous judging process, Visit Nottinghamshire, the city and county’s official tourism board and the organisers of the awards, are delighted to announce the final shortlist.

The 15 awards categories include coveted titles such as Hotel of the Year, Visitor Attraction of the Year, and the Taste of Nottinghamshire Award. Following a series of extremely strong applications from many of Nottinghamshire’s tourism and hospitality businesses, the decision was taken for some of the categories to include Highly Commended recognition awards alongside Overall Winner. The shortlisted businesses can be viewed here.

The Overall Winner and Highly Commended awards will be announced at the Awards Dinner, hosted at the Crowne Plaza Hotel on Thursday 24 October 2019.

All nominees will be invited to the ceremony, a glamorous black-tie event which will offer an excellent opportunity for networking, publicity and inspiration. Winners of each category will receive a trophy and can expect invaluable press and promotional opportunities for their business.

VisitBritain/VisitEngland Chief Executive Sally Balcombe said:

“Many congratulations to all the finalists of the Nottinghamshire Hospitality STARS Awards, which are being run in association with the VisitEngland Awards for Excellence. The Awards recognise, congratulate and celebrate businesses and individuals that deliver amazing experiences for visitors, as well as championing innovation in tourism and inspiring business excellence. Eligible winners from the Nottinghamshire Hospitality STARS Awards will automatically feed into the VisitEngland Awards for Excellence 2020 for the chance to be recognised as a national winner.”

Stephen Jackson, interim Chief Executive at Marketing NG, said:

“The quality of applications this year was unbelievably high, which led to the decision to offer Highly Commended for some of the awards categories. It’s testament to Nottinghamshire’s thriving tourism economy, which is on an upwards trajectory and only set to grow further with the regeneration programme happening across the city. We would like to thank all those who submitted a nomination and we look forward to celebrating the fantastic achievements of our tourism and hospitality businesses at the awards ceremony.”

“We are pleased to sponsor the Taste of Nottinghamshire category in the awards,” said Richard Johal, a director of Nottingham Business Improvement District (BID).  “It is important to showcase the quality and variety of restaurants and other leisure and tourism businesses both within and outside Nottingham city centre and these awards help to do that.”

Although entries for nominations have now closed, sponsorship of the awards and table sales for this event are still open. The awards are organised in association with Nottingham City Council, Nottingham BID, Crowne Plaza, Code Print and Luisa’s Vegan Chocolates.
