SMEs to pitch to investors for growth cash at Venturefest East Midlands 2015

East Midlands companies that are looking to raise finance and increase their chances of success in pitches to potential investors can now register to take part in a special investment pitching programme at Venturefest East Midlands 2015 this April.

Offering expert advice on how to prepare for pitching to investors, the Pitches to Investors hub at Venturefest East Midlands will feature two training workshops for entrepreneurs and businesses that are looking for investment or want to find out more about the opportunities that are available to them. The morning training session will focus on earlier stage businesses, their business model and plan, whilst  the afternoon session will focus on more established, revenue generating businesses and the various areas of fundraising. The sessions will be led by Accelerace and the Foresight Group.

Venturefest East Midlands 2015 is a free to attend, one day business growth event for SMEs in the East Midlands, taking place at the East Midlands Conference Centre in Nottingham on Tuesday 14 April. Aiming to drive the development of new business opportunities by bringing together innovators, investors and entrepreneurs, Venturefest East Midlands will offer businesses access to training workshops to help develop the skills required to secure funding in the Pitches to Investors Hub.

The Pitches to Investors Hub promises to be a hive of activity at Venturefest East Midlands as it also hosts Nottingham’s Next Business Generation and Pitch  Perfect programmes. Nottingham Pitch Perfect, run by Foresight Group, is a fully funded programme supported by Nottingham City Council that is open to early stage and high growth companies in Nottingham.

The programme helps companies to understand investment and increase their chances of success in pitches. Selected businesses from the programme and from Next Business Generation will then go on to pitch to investors live at Venturefest East Midlands.

David Ralph, Chief Executive at D2N2 Local Enterprise Partnership and Chair of Venturefest East Midlands stated, “Venturefest East Midlands is all about creating opportunities for successful business deals. We are proud to host the Pitch Perfect programme to support businesses and ensure they are well prepared for attracting investment.”

Councillor Nick McDonald, Portfolio Holder for Jobs and Growth at Nottingham City Council commented: “Venturefest East Midlands is a great launch pad for businesses who like to think laterally and find new solutions and partnerships. As one of the UK’s most innovative cities, it dovetails very well with our ambitions for growth. A network of creative, connected businesses is the foundation of a well-balanced local economy, so we’re proud to support the event which will also allow us to speak to more businesses about all the different support we can offer to help them develop.”

The dynamic and informative training workshops will be available to all delegates at Venturefest East Midlands. To register for your complementary place at the event SMEs should visit www.venturefestem.com. The Pitches to Investors training workshop places are open on a first come, first served basis to Venturefest East Midlands 2015 delegates only by emailing lily@hollandalexander.com.
