Nottingham Event Team at Ned LuddThe Nottingham Event Team will have a new string to its bow this year when it showcases everything the city has to offer at IMEX – the worldwide exhibition for incentive travel, meetings and events, which will be held in Frankfurt from 20 – 22 May – including Robin Hood as part of its delegation.

The team, which focuses on bringing business tourism into Nottingham, is looking to attract visitors to the exhibition stand it shares with VisitEngland by offering them the opportunity to meet Robin Hood – Nottingham’s most famous outlaw – and win some fabulous prizes.  Plus, at 2pm and 4pm each day, as part of the Destination Presentations, conference delegates will be able to sample the award-winning Bramley Apple Martini cocktail, which was created by the Nedd Ludd, Nottingham and chosen by VisitEngland earlier this year as part of English Tourism Week to help tell the story of Nottinghamshire.

Nottingham is already known the world over as the home of Robin Hood; now the city is using its legendary son to help raise the profile of the city and its benefits as a destination for business events, conferences, exhibitions and meetings.

As well as giving visitors the chance to meet Robin Hood on the VisitEngland stand and find out about how his legend lives on in Nottingham, the Nottingham Event Team will be taking advantage of the many opportunities at IMEX through its meetings with buyers and event planners.

David Randall, Director of Conferencing and Events, Nottingham Event Team said:

“We are looking forward to showcasing Nottingham’s credentials as a Green city and a Science City at this major exhibition, which, we feel, will be of particular interest to IMEX delegates.

“IMEX provides us with the ideal opportunity to demonstrate our strengths in our key sectors.   With Nottingham BioCity, one of Europe’s largest bioscience incubators, and the brand new MediCity, to two of the greenest universities in the UK, we have the right knowledge and know-how to bring specialist events to life.

“Nottingham has so much to offer as a destination for corporate events and conferences – high quality venues, a compact city centre, excellent transport links and expertise in a broad-range of sectors. Our city is well connected, creative and friendly, with a broad range of venues to suit any event needs, from 10 to 10,000 delegates.

“As well as being the destination of choice for conferencing and events, Nottinghamshire’s leisure and sporting events are world renowned – from live music, theatre performances, festivals, outdoor and sporting events are all just a stone’s throw away.”

Lorraine Baggs, Trade and Investment Manager, Invest in Nottingham, said:

Prior to attending IMEX in May, the Nottingham Event Team has already made two trade missions to Germany. The first of which was a Life Sciences trip to Berlin in February, and in March the team made an engineering trade mission to Munich.

Look out for the Nottingham Event Team at the VisitEngland stand at IMEX Frankfurt from 20 – 22 May to meet Robin Hood and win some fabulous prizes.
