The Poppy and Pint, a former British Legion, is a firm favourite amongst the Lady Bay community and visitors alike, with its warm welcoming atmosphere, fantastic food and friendly staff.
The Poppy is nestled away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre with fast routes to Trent Bridge Cricket ground, both Nottingham football stadiums, Holme Pierrepont national watersports centre, Nottingham Station and Broadmarsh bus station.
The Poppy comprises of four distinct areas: the Poppy café bar, the traditional bar, the dining room and the function room. The latter two are available for private hire, depending on your requirements.
The first floor function room holds up to 150 people, and is complete with a private bar and stage area if required. Free Wi-fi, blackout blinds, a sound system and a projector are available for use. This spacious, airy room is very much a ‘blank canvas’. It’s highly versatile, and events are tailored to your individual needs.
On the ground floor, the dining room is also available for private hire. This smaller room is a warm, light space and can hold up to 50 people. It’s ideal for corporate meals, business dinners, meetings and work parties.
This young venue has quickly developed a strong reputation for high standards of service, and a flexible, honest approach. The management team at the Poppy bring a personal touch to all events, working with you to ensure your needs are catered for, and delivering events with passion and attention to detail.
Why not begin your day with breakfast and a locally roasted coffee in the café bar? Or finish your event by enjoying a glass of wine in the beer garden, overlooking the Lady Bay Bowling Green. Food at the Poppy is seasonal, with ingredients sourced as locally as possible. Most dishes are inspired by French bistro food, with an emphasis on full-flavours, colour and texture.
On the bar you’ll find an extensive range of local and National ales. Traditional ciders sit alongside continental draught and bottled beers, fine wines, spirits and liqueurs.
