The Council House has been the setting for many splendid public occasions and is now available for private hire events, including wedding receptions.
It takes a building of some distinction to stand out in a city as rich in beautiful and interesting architecture as Nottingham, and the Council House, which stands proudly in the heart of the city centre, does not disappoint.
The Ballroom
Located on the first floor this is the largest and most impressive room in the building and is similar in style to the ballroom at the Palace of Versailles. The columns surrounding the Ballroom are embellished with gilt and the highly decorated ceiling has Art Deco light fittings. It has an elegant parquet floor in walnut oak and ebonised pear wood. The room can be set up in a variety of ways dependant upon numbers. The venue also has staging available with a PA system and audio visual equipment.
The Dining Room
Also located on the first floor, next to the Ballroom, the Dining Room has Ancona walnut panelling with an Italian marble fireplace and is ideal for a smaller reception, or can be used as a pre drinks reception area before the start of an event in the Ballroom.
