The Embankment is steeped in history, recently earning Grade II listed status. The building was designed by Albert Nelson Bromley, the architect behind some of the most distinctive Boots pharmacy buildings, and opened in 1907 as ‘Boots Store 2’.
The ground floor of this exquisite venue consists of five distinct areas: the Arkwright dining room, the main bar, the conservatory, and the Dispensary; a real ale and craft beer bar. A newly built beer garden is now available to enjoy on sunny days.
On the first floor you’ll find two stunning function rooms available for hire, offering the perfect setting for events for 10-140 people. All events are bespoke, created to suit your wants and requirements, from a private client meeting to a largescale wedding ceremony. The Lord Trent Room
The stunning 1930s art-deco Lord Trent Room has been lovingly restored to its former glory. With double-height ceilings, magnificent crystal chandeliers, original stained-glass bay windows, beautiful architectural arches and a central dance floor, the Lord Trent Room exudes elegance and prestige.
This large room offers the use of a private bar and restroom facilities and can hold up to 140 people.
Jesse Boot Room
Jesse Boot’s former office has been sensitively restored to create the Jesse Boot Room; an intimate, oak-panelled space complete with original stained-glass windows, and a gallery view over the main room of the building. It offers an abundance of character and sophistication, and is ideal for smaller-scale events, holding up to 48 people.
